Patrick Semmler is the Senior Program Coordinator for the Duke Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies where he coordinates the undergraduate and graduate certificates. He is also the Director of Undergraduate Studies and the Director of Graduate Studies for CLACS. He received an MA in Latin American Studies from the University of Utah, and previously a BA in International Studies and Political Science. His work in Latin American Studies began with the inaugural Utah Nahuatl Language and Culture Program, and then with events at a National Resource Center (NRC), and Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) coordination. He also has experience working on migrant rights projects and refugee resettlement. Patrick is currently the Vice President of the Consortium of Latin American Studies Programs (CLASP), as well as Co-Chair of the CLASP Language Committee. Patrick speaks Nahuatl, Guarani, and Spanish. He has experience in Spanish language medical interpretation as well as literary translation.
