CLACS welcomes Patrick Cheney as our Senior Program Coordinator!

Patrick Cheney is the Senior Program Coordinator for the Duke Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies where he coordinates the undergraduate and graduate certificates. He received an MA in Latin American Studies from the University of Utah, and previously a BA in International Studies and Political Science. He has worked in Latin American Studies in higher education, beginning with the inaugural Utah Nahuatl Language and Culture Program, and also has experience working on migrant rights projects and refugee resettlement. Patrick is currently the Vice President of the Consortium of Latin American Studies Programs (CLASP), as well as Co-Chair of the CLASP Language Committee. Patrick speaks Nahuatl, Guaraní, and Spanish. He has experience in Spanish language medical interpretation as well as literary translation.
