She will discuss the profound impacts of the 2016 Peace Agreement in Colombia, emphasizing the resilience of Campesinx communities in the fight for food sovereignty. Since the beginning of the Peace Process between the Colombian government and the FARC-EP, Briceida has worked for the full implementation of the Peace Accord on the points referring to the Integral Rural Reform and the Substitution of Illicitly Used Crops. She will explore her groundbreaking efforts in establishing a Campesinx university and leadership school, dedicated to fostering a profound connection with the land and a unique sense of "loving what we have." We are looking forward to hosting Briceida and her talk about the Campesinx community and their inspiring struggle for peace and land restoration.
Briceida Lemos Rivera, a Campesina and fensuagrista from Northern Cauca, has dedicated her life to defending the Campesinx communities in northern Cauca, which have been impacted by violence due to armed confrontations. She has worked for the full implementation of the Peace Accord since the beginning of the Peace Process in Colombia.
