São Paulo Researchers International (SPRINT) Grant

New grant opportunity to enhance Duke-Brazil partnerships

Duke University researchers in all fields have a new opportunity to build partnerships with colleagues in Brazil. The Duke Brazil Initiative (DBI) and the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) are pleased to announce the availability of seed grants for collaborative research through the Foundation’s São Paulo Researchers International (SPRINT) program. The DBI, the Duke Office of Global Affairs, and FAPESP have contributed matching funds to support projects co-directed by Duke researchers and partners in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Project teams can apply for up to $15,000 to fund a year of travel and other exchange activities to help launch new initiatives. Anyone with PI status at Duke in any field—from political science to physics, rheumatology to romance studies—is eligible to submit a proposal in conjunction with a partner in São Paulo state.

The call for proposals is available at the link below and on FAPESP’s website at http://www.fapesp.br/en/12106. For further information on the SPRINT program, see http://www.fapesp.br/sprint/call42018. The deadline for proposals is January 28, 2019.
