Duke offers a wide array of opportunities for students to study Brazil and its impact regionally and globally. Duke's strengths in Brazil studies include:
- A Brazilian and Global Portuguese Major
- A vibrant language program
- Study abroad opportunities in Rio de Janeiro and Belem
- New courses in the humanities, social and environmental sciences
- World class faculty
These all combine to provide the foundations for dynamic and interdisciplinary learning. In addition to these curricular offerings, the Duke Brazil Initiative and the Global Brazil Humanities Lab sponsor academic conferences, research grants, Bass Connections programs, collaborations with Brazilian universities and ongoing discussions with our Brazilian alumni. These activities include inviting cutting edge Brazilian experts in arts, energy and environmental policy, politics and literature to Duke throughout the academic year.
