Our mission is to increase knowledge and awareness of Latin American and Caribbean cultures and histories, and prepare citizens and future leaders who may work in Latin America- or Latinx-related fields such as academics, business, arts, government, non-governmental organizations, and many other careers.

We offer interdisciplinary certificate programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and coordinate and support Latin American and Caribbean Studies across campus. Through our Consortium partnership with UNC-Chapel Hill, Duke students may take UNC classes. The Consortium benefits from world-class library sources on the region at both campuses.
